PROGRAMS

We believe in exploring new frontiers of learning and fostering earth-based relationships by rediscovering traditional farming, engaging in circles of dialogue, and practicing respectful listening.

With this in mind, step into Seed2Fork Agroforestry Farms—where vibrant spaces and a nourishing lifestyle are cultivated. Since 2016, we have served thousands, including seniors, adults, K–12 students, and Gen Xers across rural, urban, and low-income communities.

We do more than just plant and harvest; we foster a deep sense of belonging and respect. Our efforts go beyond growing fruits and vegetables—we are cultivating a future where everyone can thrive, rooted in the values of love, respect, and resilience.

Our Educational Programs and STEM Projects

Our work has been shaped by countless best practices and courageous conversations with individuals living in rural, urban, and low-income communities—including students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

We began by asking two essential questions:

  • What do you need to feel safe when entering an unfamiliar environment?

  • Does anyone truly listen to and understand your personal stories?

Time and again, we’ve received thoughtful, intelligent, and deeply personal responses—voices full of insight, yet too often denied a platform for authentic expression.

Our goal is to create safe spaces where forgiveness is possible, personal stories are shared, and voices are honored without judgment. By listening, learning, and acting together, we foster self-empowerment and ignite meaningful change in the communities we serve.

Our Methodologies for Experiential Learning

Experiential learning is a philosophy, methodology, and process of learning through reflection on doing. While hands-on learning can be a form of experiential learning, it does not always include the critical element of reflection—particularly on the impact of a product or service within a community.

At Seed2Fork, we categorize our experiential learning activities into four key areas:

🖐🏽 Field- and Work-Based
🖐🏽 Global- and Community-Based
🖐🏽 Project- and Problem-Based
🖐🏽 Research- and Writing-Based

4 C’s to 21st Century Life Skills

4 C’s to 21st Century Life Skills

21st-century skills are essential for career pathways in BIPOC, urban, and rural communities. These skills teach the following principles:

Critical thinking- teaches individuals to question claims and seek the truth.

Creativity- encourages unique and innovative thinking.

Collaboration- demonstrates the power of groups in creating something greater than what one can achieve alone.

Communication- instructs how to efficiently convey ideas.

Collectively, these four skills empower communities to function as one-person think tanks.

Science, Technology, Engineering Math (STEM)

Science, Technology, Engineering Math (STEM)

STEM is a pedagogical model designed to foster innovative learning and teaching. It provides a general framework for improving the teaching and learning of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

This model was developed out of concern that future generations were lacking the critical skills needed to succeed in the global economy. To address this, we integrate the arts—visual, language, physical, and music—alongside mathematics. This approach allows learning to be more creative and naturally aligned with the principles of STEM education.

Art Integration

Art Integration

Arts integration is an approach to teaching and learning in which content standards are taught and assessed equitably in and through the arts.

Students engage in alternative forms of expression—such as dancing, acting, writing, speaking, drawing, and singing—to make sense of the content they are learning and to demonstrate their understanding. Arts integration includes both in-process, sense-making activities and culminating, summative products.

Rainbow Culinary After-School Program

Building on a tradition of over 100 years, Le Cordon Bleu is a global leader in the culinary arts, known for its prestigious name and strong reputation in the culinary and hospitality industry.

At Seed2Fork, we are fortunate to have Chef Andi Webber—a graduate of this renowned institution—serve as the Director of our After-School Program. Our program offers nutrition-focused cooking classes and exercise activities. But it’s more than just a program; students develop interpersonal communication, active listening, and teamwork skills through hands-on experiences.

As part of the program, students also create their own Rainbow Cookbook. We offer this cookbook on a sliding scale to ensure it remains accessible to all families.
