About the event
We will start the tour at the Hazel Valley Community Garden to learn about planning for your orchard, selecting your trees and planting. Then we will travel as a group to New Start Community Garden to learn an overview of tree care and different kinds of planting options.
After the tour we will make and enjoy some apple cider together! There will be plenty of time to talk to other gardeners and learn from each other.
Note: this tour will provide an overview of orchard planning and management for shared garden spaces. We will address the topic of pruning and pest management, and share resources for learning more. However, this is not a pruning or pest management workshop. We are happy to refer you to more specific workshops in the area if that is what you are looking for.
